Clean Up Copeland Park
|
|
| |
The King's Bay Rotary
has initiated a program for recognizing local citizens for
their outstanding contributions to the community. The club
recently presented an award to two couples who had the courage
to take a stand against drug dealers in the Knight's Addition
of Crystal River, also known as Copeland Park. The Weavers and
the Hampton's organized a Take Back the Park March, in
partnership with the Citrus County Sheriff's Office.

The following night
both families had the tires of their personal vehicles slashed
by street thugs in reprisal. Undaunted, they started a monthly
Picnic in the Park for neighborhood residents and supporters
from throughout the community. They also held a subsequent
march. The Kings Bay Rotary salutes their courage! From the
left are Sandy & Maxine Weaver, Herb & Barbara Hampton, and
Kings Bay Board member Jim Farley.
