Galen Clymer is originally from Southern, New
Jersey moved to Florida in 1973 and to Citrus County in 1975. He was
employed by Florida Power Corp. at Crystal River Unit 3 Nuclear
Plant where he held several positions including Nuclear Waste
Manager, Senior Quality Auditor, ChemRad Technician, and Chemistry
Specialist during his 27 years. He then started his tour boat
business the “Crystal River Eco-Tour Water Taxi” on Crystal River.
He has 2 children who live in Fla., Dan who is married to Becky and
Jeff who is married to Sara.
Galen is currently the Chairman of the City of Crystal River
Waterfronts Advisory Board. He has been active as a Boy Scout leader
with his son’s and has back packed the mountains at the Philmont
Scout Reservation twice.
He became a member of the Kings Bay Rotary Club in 2002 and has
chaired and co-chaired the Sportsman’s Showcase, the major fund
raising event for the club for the past 6 years. He has also sat on
the Board of Directors of the club since 2003. His hobbies are
boating, golf and hiking the mountains of North Carolina. His goals
for the club are to make dreams real internationally by continuing
the water project, in the community by continuing current projects,
developing new ones, publicizing the club, its accomplishments and
having fun doing it. |
